Noretta Dunworth

       Noretta started dancing and singing at the age of 2 and was on the radio weekly. At the age of 12 she began teaching in her parents basement. Just celebrating her 86th birthday, Noretta has been teaching and operating The Noretta Dunworth School of Dance in Dearborn, Michigan since 1940. Her great success is in the quality and consistency of her successful students. Not just in the state of Michigan, but also in all parts of the United States and in Canada. Many of her students now have their own dance studios and been successful themselves. A member of Dance Masters of MIchigan/ America for nearly 50 years, and a Cecchetti Ballet Council of America. Noretta still teaches 4 days a week and still produces champions and professional dancers.


 

 

 

 

 

Loni Lane

       Artistic Director of the Dearborn Ballet Theater Inc, Member of Dance Masters of Michigan/America for over 20 years, Cecchetti Council of America, Dance Educators of America, BA Michigan State University, teaching degree, University of Michigan. Teacher of all ages- Ballet, Cecchetti and Vaganova method, Tap (all styles), Jazz( classical, modern, contemporary, lyrical). She danced with the Bolshoi Ballet, Detroit City Ballet, and studied in New York City at the Joffrey Ballet School, Broadway Dance Center, and in London, England at the Royal Ballet School Covent Garden, and also from her mother Noretta Dunworth at The Noretta Dunworth School of Dance. Teacher of numerous title and scholarship winners, national champions and professional dancers for over 40 years.

 


 

 

 

 

 

 

Tracy Kielb

        Member of Dance Masters of Michigan/ America for over 10 years. Techer of many champions and scholarship winner. Ballet, Tap, Jazz (all styles), Partnering and Adagio. former coach of the Northville High School Dance Team. Graduate of the University of Michigan.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Casey Quinn

      Grew up in Dearborn, Michigan where she trained at her grandmother and mother's studio, The Noretta Dunworth School of Dance. After high school, Casey moved straight to New York. For two years she worked as the WCDE assistant to John Crutchman and Alan Sherfield. At the age of 22, her dream came true when she landed a role in "Wicked". She is now on faculty for Revive Dance Convention and the National Dance Honors. Her credits include: Theater: Wicked- Broadway, Chicago Company, 2nd National Tour   War Paint- Broadway Workshop- Christopher Gattelli  Stage: BCEFA- Easter Bonnet, BCEFA- Nothin Like a Dame   Television: Royal Pains Season 8, The Today Show, Project Runway, Unsolved Mysteries, Honda Commercial,  MTV Dance Crew Commercial   Film:   Winter's Tale- Colin Farrell, Russell Crowe   Isn't It Romantic- Rebel Wilson, Liam Hemsworth, Priyanka Chopra- In theaters Febuary 14th 2019


 

 

 

 

 

 

Jordan Mercer

Jordan Mercer’s professional ballet career has taken her all over the United States. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jordan grew up training in the school at Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, where she had the opportunity to perform alongside the company in multiple ballets. She then was selected to join Ballet Austin’s Professional Division Training Program and danced with them for two years before joining the Alabama Ballet. For the last five years, Jordan has been dancing with the Chicago Repertory Ballet, one of Chicago’s premiere contemporary ballet companies. As a senior member, she has gotten to dance in many ballets including The Four Seasons, Bolero, A Symphony for Hope, and as Lady Macbeth in Wade Schaaf’s full length ballet of Macbeth. Throughout her career, she has gotten to work with choreographers such as Wade Schaaf, Roger Vanfleteren, Christopher Bruce, Kiesha Lalama, Gina Patterson, Kameron Saunders, Germaul Barnes, Tenley Dickey, and Shannon Alvis.  Jordan has also spent many years giving back to the next generation. She has taught in Alabama Ballet’s RAD certified Academy, has worked in summer dance and theater programs for Samford University and Point Park University, has acted as assistant to the choreographer for the National Highschool Musical Theater Awards in New York City, and has spent the last five years teaching for several studios in the Chicagoland Area.

Amy Yakima

Amy Yakima grew up dancing at Noretta Dunworth School Of Dance in Dearborn, Michigan. While training, she was casted in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular as Clara for 3 years at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, MI and 1 year at the Radio City Music Hall in NYC.  She is most notably known for winning season 10 of Fox’s hit tv show “So You Think You Can Dance” and continuing to tour nationwide that fall with the top 10 contestants of that season.  She has also returned to the show as an All-Star. She also toured with Travis Wall’s Shaping Sound dance company and was a performer in Lindsey Stirling’s “Shatter Me” National/International tour. Amy was a dancer in Carrie Underwood’s “Something in the Water” and made her Broadway debut as Peter Pan in Finding Neverland and has also toured in the National Tour Finding Neverland and Wicked.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Renee Petkowski

 A Native from Detroit Michigan, Renee Petkovski fell in love with dancing, acting, and modeling at a very young age. With her first print ad in People magazine at 11 years old, Renee knew she was hooked, and has been successfully pursuing her dreams ever since. Renee continued her dancing and training while attending Western Michigan University. There, she honed her dancing, teaching and choreography skills while graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. Immediately following graduation Renee was hired as a featured dancer in the hit Broadway style musical, Katonga, at Busch Gardens, Tampa Florida. Renee lived by the philosophy that with the right attitude and work ethic you can accomplish anything. She quickly moved up the ranks to dance captain as well as casting, choreography and maintaining the quality of numerous shows in the park. Renee always had her sights on something more. She decided to take a leap of faith and danced her way into Hollywood California. She is now signed with two of LA’s elite Agencies and has become and established dancer, choreographer, and model in the industry. Some credits include, ABC hit show How To Get Away With Murder, ABC’s Family hit show Bunheads, Shakira, Chiquis Rivera, Far East Movement, Don Omar, Latin Billboard Awards, Latin Grammy’s, Heineken, Sketchers, L’OREAL Matrix, Los Angeles Clippers, LA Sparks, Utah Jazz, and many more. Renee is also a Professor of Dance at Oakland University. Traveling around the country teaching, inspiring, and sharing her knowledge and passion with aspiring dancers brings great joy and purpose to her life.

Recieved a Bachelor in Fine Arts from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. Liz ventured to NYC in 2001 where she attened New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and recieved a Master of Fine Arts in dance. Liz worked extensivley with Larry Keigwin & Company, creating, performing, touring, and teaching as an origional member of the company. Liz has had the honor of performing at the Joyce Theater, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Works in Process at the Guggenheim, The Opening Gala at Jacob's Pillow, and New York City Center to name a few. She has recently returned to Michigan with her family and was also an Alumni of The Noretta Dunworth School of Dance.
