  • BALLET

    Ballet

    Classical Ballet is the basis for all types of dance. It develops posture, strength, body placement and proper dance technique. Noretta Dunworth School of Dance offers: The Ceccehtti Method, Russan Vaganova Method, and a non-syllabus class. 

          The Cecchetti Method is a graded system that develops and teaches the student from basic ballet in Grade 1 all the way through professional levels. Our instructors are certified to teach through the professional levels.

          Russan Ballet classes follow the Vaganova technique, this is for the advance students.

          The non-syllabus classes are designed for all students to experience a variety of steps and movements. 

    All Ballet classes start with a complete barre warm-up, body placement and stretch. Then center work which includes adage and allegro movements in every class. Depending upon the age and level determines the depth of the class. Pointe work for the advanced student. 

  • COMBO CLASSES

    Baby Combo Classes   

     BALLET/ TAP COMBO 3-4 year olds

    Focusing on basic beginning ballet positions, steps, coordination, stretching and proper placement. 

    Tap, alternating feet, balance and basic beginning tap steps. The students will perform 2 dances in the annual recital. 

    BALLET/ TAP/ JAZZ COMBO 4-6 year olds

               The same as above but focuses on strengthening and perfecting basic skills and adds beginning jazz. More stretching, jumps, introduces simple combinations in all 3 subjects. The students will perform 3 dances in the annual recital. 

  • JAZZ

    Jazz

         Noretta Dunworth School of Dance offers several different types of jazz classes:

    Modern, Classical, Lyrical, Musical Theater, Contemporary

    Each focuses on technique, style, and strength. Every class starts with a warm-up and stretch, then moves to the center and progressions across the floor. This includes jumps, turns, pirouettes, leaps, and ends with a combination to incorporate all the elements of the class. Ballet is strongly recommended for the serious dancer. 

  • TAP

    Tap

          Noretta Dunworth School of Dance offers many different styles of tap dancing:

    Rhythm, Classical, Jazz, Stylized Tap

    Classes Begin with the basic steps and warm-up and continues with the across the floor combinations, turns, etc. 

  • HIP HOP

    Hip-Hop

          No previous experience is necessary for Hip-Hop classes. This is an energized class with upbeat popular but appropriate music. Students learn the up to date moves as seen on television and in music videos. Basic urban dance steps incorporate rhythm, coordination, and fun!

  • BALLROOM

    Studying all types of balloon dancing.

    Latin- Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive

    Standard- Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep

    The two styles differ in technique, rhythm and costume.

  • ACRO/GYMNASTIC

    Acro-Gymnastics 

          All ages welcome, this class includes a warm-up, stretch, flexibility exercises, strengthening, and conditioning. Basic skills include: forward and backward rolls, back bends, walkovers, cartwheels. These skills progress into front and back handsprings and full flips.
